Senoia Farmers' Market

Chris and Holly Tigchelaar didn't want their market to just sell produce — they wanted Saturday mornings that felt like the whole town showing up.

Senoia Farmers' Market

Chris and Holly Tigchelaar didn't come to Senoia just to start a business. They came because of the way the town made them feel — neighbors talking on sidewalks, families spending Saturday mornings together, visitors discovering something they didn't expect to find. When the Senoia Farmers' market was launched in 2019, the goal was simple: add to that, not disrupt it. Create something that felt less like a transaction and more like a weekly social gathering that the community could call its own.

Six years in, that's exactly what it's become. Every Saturday morning from March through December, 40 Travis Street comes alive with local farmers, makers, artisans, and families. The crowd is a cross-section of Senoia itself — retirees and young professionals, longtime locals and visitors from across Georgia — all drawn by something that's harder to find than fresh produce or handmade goods. They come for the feeling.

And the feeling, Chris and Holly will tell you, is the whole point. You could order from most of their vendors without leaving your couch. But you'd miss the update on a neighbor whose kid is having a great year in little league. You'd miss congratulating someone on a new grandchild. You'd miss the moment at the end of the day when friends stick around to help bag trash and clean up — not because anyone asked, but because that's just what people do here. Perhaps most importantly, you'd miss the opportunity to experience good old fashioned 'community'.

Plan a Saturday morning around it. Come early, grab a Nic & Norman's Blood Orange Margarita, and make it one of the best parts of your weekend.
