Carter and Taylor Schmeck didn't move to Senoia to open a bike shop. They moved here for friendship — to be closer to dear friends and settle down as a family with their young daughter. They bought a home, fell in love with the town, and not long after, the opportunity to purchase the local bike shop landed in front of them. Carter had spent more than 35 years in competitive cycling and 25 years in the bicycle industry, including professional road and mountain bike racing. It felt less like a business decision and more like an inevitability.
What they walked into was equal parts passion project, technical operation, and community builder — and they've leaned into all three. Senoia Bicycle carries Specialized, Cervélo, Santa Cruz, and Batch, and services every make and model that comes through the door. The staff brings expertise from nearly every discipline imaginable — former professional road cyclists, downhill mountain bikers, elite BMX riders, and seasoned mechanics. That depth recently earned Senoia Bicycle Specialized's "Road Bike Excellence" recognition, awarded to only a select group of dealers across North America and South America. It's a serious designation for a shop that could easily be mistaken for a friendly neighborhood stop.
And it is that too. On any given day the door opens for a child getting their first bike, a family looking to ride together, and a competitive athlete chasing a performance goal — all treated with the same attention and care.
The Tuesday Night Road Ride draws more than 100 cyclists regularly and has become one of the most competitive group rides in the Southeast — pulling riders from across Georgia into downtown Senoia and straight into the restaurants, shops, and community that make this town worth the trip.
