In the early 1890s, a young entrepreneur named Frank Hollberg arrived in Senoia with a modest plan — open a jewelry shop. Senoia had other ideas. The town was growing fast and needed more than watch repairs, so by 1894 Hollberg's General Store had taken shape, offering food staples, clothing, and the kind of mercantile variety that made it an essential stop on Main Street. It became part supply hub, part community gathering place, and entirely woven into the fabric of daily life.
Each generation of the Hollberg family left its mark. When Frank Hollberg III took over in the 1980s, he steered the business toward furniture exclusively. Then in 2013, longtime manager Amanda Whatley purchased the store — carrying forward a legacy that has outlasted every era Senoia has been through. More than 130 years on Main Street. The oldest business in town, still going strong.
What most people don't realize walking past is the scale of what's inside. Hollberg's stretches from the historic Masonic Lodge all the way to the corner of Seavy and Main — three showrooms upstairs, five on the main floor, more than 25,000 square feet of furniture, fabrics, and design possibility. An expansive wall of fabrics lets customers customize pieces to fit their exact vision. The sales team is experienced, friendly, and refreshingly low pressure.
