It started with a Barbie doll house. Sandee Peavy and her husband built one for their daughter, which led to building them for others, which led to unique birdhouses, which led to craft shows, which led to antique malls, which led to Fairburn Antique Mall — and eventually, in 2004, to a storefront in downtown Senoia that Sandee didn't plan on opening but couldn't pass up. That's how FoxxHollow Antiques was born, and if you know Sandee, the winding path makes perfect sense.
She named it for her love of foxes — elusive creatures that feel genuinely special to spot — and the fox collection inside has grown for years as customers from around the world add to it. Back in 2004, downtown Senoia had almost nothing. Sandee was one of a handful of people who helped start the very first car show and had ringside seats when The Walking Dead came to film Woodbury right outside her door. That small giraffe sitting in her shop? He snuck into an episode as an Easter egg and became famous.
What FoxxHollow sells is harder to define than antiques. Sandee calls it nostalgia. True antiques, vintage finds, silver coins, old tools, sterling silver rings, vintage jewelry and clothing, Pokemon cards for the kids — whatever makes you stop and say I remember that or I need that. The shop looks different every visit because Sandee, a self-described Cottage Core and Granny Core devotee, is always staging her treasures in new ways.
First-timers get greeted, made to feel welcome, and often prayed for. Kids who come in on their best behavior get rewarded from Sandee's "good kid" box — and those kids who were once collecting rewards are now coming back as adults. That's not a shop. That's a place.
