Crook opened his first grocery store in Senoia — long before Main Street looked anything like it does today. Over the decades that followed, the store became more than a place to stock up on essentials. It was a hub, an employer, a gathering point, and a fixture of daily life for generations of Senoia families.
A.L.'s son Ellis carried that legacy forward, and Ellis's son Greg has carried it further still — keeping a family business alive and active well into its third generation. Over more than a century, Crook's Marketplace has evolved alongside the town it has always called home. In 2021, that evolution reached a new chapter when Crook's became Senoia's very first liquor store — a wide selection of spirits, wine, and beer, delivered with the same family ownership that has defined this store since before most of Senoia existed.
At 95 years old, Ellis Crook can still be found inside the store. That's not a footnote — that's the whole story. A family that didn't just witness Senoia grow, but was part of building it, still showing up every day because this town has always been worth showing up for.
